General Questions
What areas do you serve?
We're based in Port Huron, Michigan, and serve the entire Thumb area and beyond. Travel is included within about 30 minutes of Port Huron. Past that, a travel fee applies, and we'll tell you the amount when you call or book.
How much do you charge?
On-site service is $75 per hour and remote service is $45 per hour. Jobs that involve a part or new hardware are quoted separately, and pricing may vary based on the type of job. Web development and managed IT are scoped through a free consultation rather than billed hourly.
Is there a diagnostic fee or minimum charge?
No. There's no diagnostic fee and no minimum charge. Each job is billed for the time it takes.
What if you can't fix it?
If we can't resolve the problem, or it needs a part we don't have on hand, you're billed one hour at most. We'll also point you toward the best way to get it fixed or replaced.
Will I know the price before you start?
Yes. We'll work out a quote with you first, and we'll talk it through with you if anything changes as the job progresses. We always ask before we replace parts or go beyond the estimate.
Do you come to me, or can I drop off my device?
Either works. We can come to you, pick up and drop off your device, or meet you for a handoff.
How do I book, and how soon can you come out?
Call us at (810) 356-7072 or book online through the scheduling link on any service page. Most appointments are same day, and we can always get to you within the week.
What are your hours? Do you take emergency calls?
We're available Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM, and Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Late-night emergency calls are available too. If an after-hours charge applies, we'll tell you before we come out.
Do you need my passwords?
Only if it's absolutely necessary. Most of the time we have you enter them yourself, so your information stays private and the work keeps moving.
Do you keep copies of my files or data?
No. We don't save or share your files or data. The only things we keep are your appointment details: name, address, phone number, and email.
Will you look through my personal files and photos?
We respect your privacy. We'll ask you to back up your information and to set aside anything you don't want seen, such as private documents, before we begin.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. If something develops within 24 hours of your appointment that's related to the work we did, we'll come back out and resolve it at no charge. We don't offer warranties on the work itself, on the devices we work on, or on parts.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, card payments (through our Chase business account or Square), and Zelle.
Who will be doing the work?
Mitchell, the owner, does the work personally. Occasionally he's joined by a trainee who is job-shadowing while in school. Mitchell has been working with technology his whole life, studied it in high school, and has been helping friends, family, and local businesses ever since.
Computer Repair & Services
Can you fix a slow computer without replacing it?
Often, yes. Slowdowns commonly come from malware, a crowded startup, a full or aging drive, or too little memory. We'll find the cause, explain what we found, and talk through your options. We repair desktops and laptops for homes and small businesses throughout Port Huron and the Thumb area.
Will I lose my files if you reinstall the operating system?
A reinstall can erase what's on the drive, so we talk it through with you first. We'll go over what needs to be preserved and the plan for protecting it, and we won't begin until you know what to expect.
Do you work on both Windows and Mac?
Yes, we work on both.
How long does a repair or cleanup take?
Repairs are typically completed the same day. Cleanups depend on how much data is on the device.
What if it's cheaper to replace the computer than fix it?
We'll tell you. If replacing makes more sense than repairing, we'll say so and explain why.

Mobile Device Repair & Services
Which phones and tablets do you repair?
Most of them, as long as replacement parts are available. Call us with the make and model and we'll confirm.
Which parts do you use?
Whatever makes the most financial sense for you, and only with your agreement. We'll advise you on the right part for your device.
How long does a screen or battery replacement take?
The repair itself is done the same day. Parts typically take about 10 business days to arrive, so the timeline depends mostly on getting the part.
Will my photos and data be safe during a repair?
We treat your data with care. We recommend backing up before any repair when you can, and we'll talk through any risk to your data before we begin.
Will a repair affect my manufacturer's warranty?
We can't guarantee that your manufacturer's warranty will remain in effect after a repair. We don't warrant screens or devices. We stand behind the physical work we do, as described in our guarantee above.
Is it worth repairing an older phone?
Often, yes, especially for a cracked screen or a worn-out battery. We'll tell you honestly whether a repair makes sense or whether it's time to move on.

Custom Builds & Consoles
Can you help me pick parts?
Yes. Part picking is part of what we do. Tell us what you'll use the PC for and what you'd like to spend, and we'll help you plan a balanced build.
Do I buy the parts, or do you?
You purchase the parts. We recommend talking with us before you buy anything so we can check compatibility.
Can I bring my own parts?
Yes. Please talk with us before you purchase so we can confirm everything will work together.
Can you upgrade a PC I already own instead of building a new one?
Often, yes. Upgrades like more memory, faster storage, or a newer graphics card can make an existing PC feel new. We'll tell you whether upgrading or building new makes more sense.
Smart Home & Entertainment
Do I need to buy equipment before you arrive?
Yes. You supply the devices, and we consult with you on a game plan first so you know exactly what's needed.
What types of walls can you mount a TV on?
Most wall types. Masonry such as cinderblock is assessed case by case, so call us if you're unsure about your walls.
Can you hide the cables?
Yes, we can run cables inside walls. Depending on the job, that can involve drywall repair, and we'll talk through that with you beforehand.
Which camera brands do you work with, and are there subscription costs?
That depends on what you want and what fits your budget. We'll help you compare options, including any subscription costs, before you buy.
Will you show me how to use everything after setup?
Yes. You'll know how to use everything before we leave.

Networking & Internet
Why is my WiFi slow or dropping?
There are many possible causes, such as router placement, interference, outdated equipment, too many connected devices, or a problem with the line coming into your home. We take the time to find the actual cause, then explain it clearly before we change anything.
Do you provide routers, or work with what I have?
We work with the equipment you already have, and we'll advise you on anything extra you may need.
Can you fix dead zones in my home or office?
Dead zones are a common problem, and fixing them is part of what we do. We'll look at your layout and equipment and recommend the right solution. We help homes and offices around Port Huron and the Thumb area.
Can you set up guest WiFi?
Yes, as long as your router supports it.
Can any of this be done remotely?
Some software-side network work can be done remotely. Device setup is done in person.
Can you tell if my internet provider is the problem?
We can help. We'll work with you and your internet service provider (ISP) to get everyone on the same page.
Data Recovery & Management
Can you recover my deleted files or a failed drive?
Sometimes, but we can't promise it. It depends on the type of failure and how much damage there is. We'll be upfront about what's recoverable and what isn't, and we won't touch anything until you know the plan.
How do I avoid making it worse before I call?
Stop using the device, and don't keep trying to power it on or save new files to it. Continued use can overwrite data that might otherwise be recoverable.
How much does recovery cost?
Pricing may vary based on the type of job. Physical drive recovery, or jobs that require replacement hardware, are quoted separately (parts + labor) when you call or book. If we can't recover your data, you're billed one hour at most.
Can you help organize years of scattered files?
Yes. File organization is part of our data management service. We'll work out a structure that makes sense to you and help set it up.
Office Devices & Peripherals
Can you fix a printer that keeps jamming or going offline?
We'd rather solve it properly than hand you a quick patch that fails again next week. We'll find the cause and explain the fix.
Which printer brands do you support?
Most brands. Call us with the make and model and we'll confirm.
Do you service business copiers or only home printers?
We service both home and small-office printers and business copiers.
Can you set up one shared printer for my whole office?
Yes, we can set up a shared printer so everyone in the office can use it.
Is it worth repairing an old printer?
We'll give you an honest recommendation on whether to repair or replace it. New hardware is quoted separately (parts + labor).
